Eviction Drama Unfolds at Gulmarg's Iconic Hotel Nedous

The Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA) has ordered the eviction of Hotel Nedous, a landmark in the region, citing unauthorized occupation of government property. The directive, effective within 24 hours, follows instructions from the Supreme Court, local High Court, and Department of Tourism.

Located in the picturesque ski resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir's Baramulla district, Hotel Nedous has served as a filming location for numerous Bollywood productions. The hotel is reportedly linked to a relative of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, adding a layer of political intrigue to the situation.

Tariq Hussain, Chief Executive Officer of the GDA, has tasked the assistant director of Tourism, Gulmarg, to take possession of the hotel promptly. This action emphasizes the authority's determination to address unauthorized land usage while also highlighting the legal backing they have secured to enforce such measures.
