The quiet town of Kotdwar in Uttarakhand was struck by tragedy when the body of a missing 11-year-old boy was discovered in the Khoh River on Sunday. The police have identified the boy as Mayank Rawat, who had been missing since Saturday evening.
Inspector Ramesh Tanwar of the Kotdwar Kotwali police noted that Mayank's family had feared he might have been kidnapped. The family confirmed the identity of the body upon reaching the scene.
Initial investigations indicate that Mayank's death was due to drowning, as there were no physical injuries present on his body, according to Inspector Tanwar.
