The Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru has announced the launch of its new sonic identity, titled 'Rhythm of BLR'. Developed in collaboration with sonic branding specialists BrandMusiq, this initiative is a cornerstone of the 'Feels Like BLR' campaign designed to redefine the airport as a space for genuine connections.
The sonic identity, rooted in the BLR Airport Anthem composed by Grammy-winning artist Padma Ricky Kej, blends traditional Carnatic sounds with global elements. Instruments such as the mandolin and mridangam intertwine with Western guitars and piano, creating a narrative of cultural heritage and modernity, according to Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL).
Hari Marar, MD and CEO of BIAL, emphasizes the emotional journey airports signify. The 'Rhythm of BLR' serves as an emotional extension of Bengaluru's spirit, marking a soundscape that resonates with warmth and inspiration. BrandMusiq's founder, Rajeev Raja, notes the identity encapsulates the airport's transformation narrative, resulting in a 'Mogo'—a musical logo that signifies the essence of the BLR Airport experience.
