Kamal Haasan, leader of Makkal Needhi Maiam, recently ignited a political firestorm in Tamil Nadu when he proclaimed education as the sole weapon capable of dismantling autocracy and the principles of Sanatan Dharma.

Speaking at an event hosted by the Agaram Foundation, Haasan expressed strong criticism of the National Entrance-cum-Eligibility Test (NEET), arguing it restricts medical education access.

The comments drew condemnation from senior Tamil Nadu BJP figures, including Tamilisai Soundararajan, who accused Haasan of inciting religious division and disrespecting Hindu sentiments.
