Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced an ambitious action plan worth Rs 30,000 crore for the development of the Brij Kshetra on Saturday. The initiative aims to connect revered pilgrimage sites such as Mathura, Vrindavan, Barsana, and Gokul, aiming to honor the region's spiritual heritage.
The chief minister underlined his government's commitment to promoting the Brij region, emphasizing its significance in India's spiritual narrative. During an event in Mathura, he stated that when addressing global crises, India's spiritual heritage has consistently paved the path to lasting peace and harmony.
The extensive development plan, deemed a transformative move, includes 118 projects focused on infrastructure enhancements, including beautification efforts, connectivity improvements, and water conservation. Adityanath also noted the symbolic opening of a ropeway in Barsana, which he described as a relief for elderly devotees.
