Tragedy on the Trek: Pilgrim's Journey Cut Short by Landslide
A 38-year-old pilgrim from Maharashtra, Parmeshwar Bhim Rao Khawal, lost his life after being struck by debris during a landslide on the Kedarnath trek. The incident occurred near Chhodi Gadhera, just above Gaurikund. Authorities have retrieved and transported his body to Gaurikund hospital.

A devastating landslide claimed the life of a pilgrim journeying to Kedarnath on Saturday. Parmeshwar Bhim Rao Khawal, 38, was hit by a boulder near Chhodi Gadhera, part of the trek route, resulting in his untimely death.
The tragic event unfolded approximately one kilometer above Gaurikund, a well-known point on the sacred Yatra. Local police, along with the Yatra Management Force, quickly responded to the incident.
Hailing from Aurangabad district in Maharashtra, Khawal's body has been transported to Gaurikund hospital. The incident has highlighted the perils that pilgrims can face on this challenging journey.
