Vibrant India Day Parade Lights Up Seattle Celebrating Independence
Seattle witnessed its first-ever India Day parade, commemorating India's 79th Independence Day. The event showcased cultural dances and unique products from India's 28 states through the India Pavilion. Dignitaries like Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell and US Congressman Adam Smith praised the Indian community's contributions.

In a stunning celebration of cultural diversity, Seattle hosted its inaugural India Day parade, marking India's 79th Independence Day. Organized by the Consulate General of India, the parade highlighted the rich heritage of the country's 28 states through captivating dance performances and the presentation of unique One District One Product (ODOP) items.
Dignitaries, including Consul General Prakash Gupta and Mayor Bruce Harrell, opened the event with the ceremonial release of tricolour balloons. The vibrant procession featured over 30 booths, each representing distinct state cultures with artifacts, regional culinary delights, and ODOP items that emphasized their historical significance.
Speakers, such as Mayor Harrell and Congressman Adam Smith, lauded the significant impact of Indian-Americans in Seattle, emphasizing the values of love, compassion, and cooperation between the United States and India. Thousands participated, embodying India's 'Unity in Diversity' through floats and performances, glorifying a broad spectrum of traditional and contemporary art forms.
