Jude Anthany Joseph, acclaimed for the film '2018', will helm 'MV Kairali—The Enduring Mystery' under Confluence Media, exploring one of Kerala's most haunting maritime enigmas.
The film will adapt 'The Master Mariner', a book capturing the emotionally intense saga of Captain Mariadas Joseph, whose son, Lt Col Thomas Joseph, penned the work. The book's English and Malayalam versions debut in Kochi on August 25.
In 1979, the MV Kairali vanished en route from Goa to Germany, leaving behind a lingering trail of speculation and grief for families, particularly in Kerala. Joseph's film aims to honor the victims and spark conversations on accountability and justice.
