In a strong statement against online racism, Tottenham Hotspur's Mathys Tel vowed to remain undeterred by the abusive messages he received following his team's recent defeat to Paris St-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup. Spurs expressed their outrage over the racist comments targeting the young forward after he missed a crucial penalty in the match.
Tel took to social media to address the incident, expressing his disappointment over the game but making it clear that racism would not shake his resolve. 'I know where I come from, where I started, and none of this will bring me down,' he declared.
Meanwhile, Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo was also subjected to racial abuse after a match against Liverpool. A suspect has been arrested and banned from attending future games. The soccer community continues to unite in the fight against racism, promoting equality and respect for all players.
