An International Bamboo Summit set to mark International Bamboo Day will take place in Mumbai on September 18-19, with Memoranda of Understanding worth Rs 20,000 crore to be inked. The event is co-organized by Phoenix Foundation and Maharashtra's MITRA think tank.
The summit aims to unite experts, entrepreneurs, researchers, and policymakers to examine bamboo's environmental benefits, including carbon sequestration and biofuel production. Chairman Pasha Patel and other key figures highlight bamboo as a key resource against environmental challenges.
High-profile attendees, including Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, will discuss bamboo's industrial applications like ethanol, timber, and green urban initiatives. The event will conclude with a vital roundtable on policy and entrepreneurship in bamboo-related sectors.
