Fans of 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' have a reason to celebrate following the show's finale. Amazon Prime Video has announced a feature film that will bring closure to the beloved YA series, according to Variety. While plot details remain closely guarded, the film will extend the storyline from the third season, which recently wrapped up.

Variety reports that the movie will be scripted by Jenny Han, who not only authored the original books but also adapted them for television, along with Sarah Kucserka. The announcement was made during the series' finale celebration held in Paris.

In a statement to Variety, Han expressed her excitement for the film, stating, "There is another big milestone left in Belly's journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due." Amazon divulged that the third season's debut attracted 25 million viewers globally in its first week.

The series, described by Variety as a multigenerational drama focused on love, family dynamics, and female friendships, has resonated with audiences worldwide. Courtenay Valenti, from Amazon MGM Studios, praised the show's significant impact, revealing their excitement to continue the narrative with Jenny Han at the helm.

The ensemble cast is fronted by Lola Tung and includes Jackie Chung, Christopher Briney, and others. Han is co-showrunner with Kucserka and serves as an executive producer with a talented team, supported by Amazon Studios and Wiip.
