The director pointed out how 'The Batman Part II' diverges from traditional narratives by not centering on Bruce Wayne's origin story but instead providing a fresh perspective on the man behind the mask. Reeves remarked, "In many other films, which I adore, the origin story takes precedence, but our sequel intends to delve beyond that, exploring previously unseen narratives."

With a promise of a unique villain whose character has never before graced the cinematic universe, Reeves emphasized the importance of Robert Pattinson remaining at the story's core. The director also revealed his stringent measures to prevent script leaks, maintaining the movie's secrecy. Warner Bros. Discovery confirmed that filming will commence in spring 2026, aiming for an October 1, 2027 release.
