Carnival of Votes: The DUSU Elections

The Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections turned North Campus into a lively carnival on Thursday. The day was marked by bustling crowds, with campaigning vehicles and rhythm of drums as the backdrop to fervent electioneering activities. Students engaged actively, collecting handouts and enjoying the festive atmosphere.

Polling took place amid tight security, with students voting in shifts for day and evening classes. Scorpios, Thars, and motorbikes, filled with young, enthusiastic campaigners, filled the streets, distributing pamphlets. The university's roads were the vibrant scene of democratic exercise with designated 'Walls of Democracy' rapidly becoming bare as a result.

Adding to the day's spectacle, fake Rs 500 notes marked 'Children Bank of India' were scattered in the air, delighting students momentarily. Ragpickers and e-rickshaw drivers seized the opportunity to collect discarded pamphlets, with booths secured by vigilant personnel to maintain order. As the day wound down, remnants of a spirited election decorated the campus streets.
