The renowned Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, is set for a temporary closure starting at 10 am on Tuesday. This measure is to facilitate the transfer of jewelry and other valuable items back to the temple's treasury, known as the 'Ratna Bhandar.'
The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) stated on Monday that the valuables were previously removed for structural repairs and held in a temporary strong room. The state government-approved guidelines will oversee their return to the treasury on Tuesday.
During this operation, public access to the temple, including 'darshan' and visits to the 'Natamandap' and 'Jagmohan,' will be suspended. Devotees can receive 'Mahaprasad' at 'Anand Bazaar' as specified. Upon completion, the restrictions will be lifted, and SJTA has called for public cooperation.
