The Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra came alive with vibrant flower decorations as devotees arrived for the first day of Shardiya Navratri. Sachin Kumar, CEO of the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, assured that comprehensive arrangements have been made for the devotees' convenience.

"The Shrine Board has ensured everything is in place. The decorations are exquisite, and the turnout is higher than usual. I urge everyone to participate in Navratri prayers and continue visiting beyond the festival," Kumar told ANI. Meanwhile, devotees also visited significant temples, such as Alopi Shankari Devi and Alok Sankari Dham, revered for their spiritual eminence.

Devotee Rahul Saroj expressed his devotion as he visited the Alopi Shankari Devi temple. Another devotee, Ravi, shared his lifelong connection with the Lopi temple, emphasizing its spiritual importance. The atmosphere was further lifted by the resumption of the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage, halted for 22 days due to adverse weather. Pilgrims expressed relief and joy upon their return to the sacred site.

Shardiya Navratri, a sacred Hindu festival lasting nine nights, honors Goddess Durga's divine feminine energy. It is marked by fervent worship, rituals, and cultural performances. Each day celebrates a different goddess form, epitomizing strength, compassion, and wisdom, as devotees partake in fasting, devotional singing, and traditional dances.
