George, a Padma Bhushan award recipient, was revered for his satirical writings that offered a critical lens on contemporary issues. Serving as an Editorial Advisor for The New Indian Express, he penned the popular 'Point of View' weekly column, captivating readers for 25 years until his retirement in 2022 at 94.
Originally from Kerala, George spent his life in Bengaluru, leaving behind a legacy cherished by his children, Sheba Thayil and noted author-poet Jeet Thayil.
