In a move generating considerable attention, leaders from various factions of the Republican Party of India (RPI) convened with Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti this Monday. Their objective was to secure approval for a large-scale rally aimed at transferring complete Buddhist control over Bodh Gaya's Mahabodhi Temple.

Scheduled for October 14, the Mahabodhi Mahavihar Mukti Andolan will commence from Veer Jijamata Udyan (Byculla Zoo) and proceed to Azad Maidan in Mumbai. Organizers confirmed involvement of all RPI factions, Buddhist leaders, relevant institutions, and the Bhikkhu Sangh.
