At a recent event organized by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) in anticipation of Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti on October 7, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta underscored the enduring relevance of Maharishi Valmiki's teachings as depicted in the Ramayana.

Gupta highlighted the collaborative efforts between her government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration to ensure that the most deprived sections of society are given priority in areas such as health, education, and employment. She stressed that national development hinges on the simultaneous progress of all societal segments.

During her address, she commended the NDMC for their recent initiative to regularize approximately 4,500 temporary workers, including sanitation staff, and noted the Delhi government's similar endeavors through the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to improve job security for sanitation workers. By reflecting on instances from the Ramayana, she articulated a vision for equality and collective advancement.
