MNM chief Kamal Haasan called for accountability on Monday after a stampede left 41 people dead. Visiting the site of the tragedy, he emphasized the need for organizers to accept responsibility and apologize for the incident.
Addressing reporters, Haasan underscored the importance of not shifting blame. "Everyone, especially the organizers, must acknowledge their role in this tragedy and seek to rectify the situation," he stated. He was accompanied by DMK leader V Senthil Balaji, who has been pivotal in post-incident relief efforts.
Haasan pointed out that the consequences could have been far worse had the rally been held at a different location. He concluded by supporting the government's ongoing efforts, emphasizing the need for collective action while the matter remains under legal scrutiny.
