Fireworks Safety Inquiry Launched Following Thrissur Blast Tragedy

The Kerala government has established a judicial probe into a deadly explosion at a fireworks manufacturing unit in Thrissur, appointing former High Court judge Justice C N Ramachandran Nair as the head.

Justice Nair emphasized that the intention isn't to ban firecrackers but to examine possible changes to their patterns to enhance safety. His remarks come after a cabinet decision, following the incident suspected to have claimed 14 lives.

The explosion, linked to temple festival preparations, underscored the need for rigorous safety measures. Justice Nair noted the cultural significance of fireworks, asserting that any recommendations will aim to balance tradition with safety.
