Domestic Dispute Turns Tragic: Woman Set Ablaze Over Dress Choice

A domestic dispute in Nandgad village took a heartbreaking turn when a 34-year-old man allegedly set his wife on fire over her choice of clothing. The incident was reported on April 19, involving Krishna Patil, who objected to his wife, Manjula Patil, wearing a nightdress instead of a sari at home.

The situation escalated after a disagreement about attending a family function. Manjula refused to change her attire or attend the event, sparking a heated argument. The altercation culminated in Krishna allegedly attempting to set her dress on fire multiple times, with the third attempt causing severe burn injuries.

Manjula was initially treated at Belagavi Medical College Hospital and later transferred to a hospital in Goa. Authorities have revealed that Krishna is dealing with medical and mental health issues, which may have contributed to his actions. A case is registered, and Krishna is in custody.
