On Friday, Zee5 informed the Delhi High Court that the central government has advised against the release of a docuseries on the notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The docuseries, scheduled to air on April 27, is under scrutiny for its potential to disturb public order.
Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav heard a plea by Bishnoi against the airing of 'Lawrence of Punjab' on Zee5. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued an advisory requesting the platform to hold the release.
The series aims to explore Bishnoi's impact on student politics and media, but the public safety concerns raised by the Punjab Police have delayed further legal proceedings until Monday.
