Illuminating Leh: A Glimpse into Ladakh's Rich Heritage

Ladakh's tourism sector received a significant boost as Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat inaugurated a Sound and Light Show at the historic Leh Palace on Friday. The initiative aims to promote cultural and heritage tourism within the Union territory, showcasing Ladakh's rich, historical legacy.

Implemented by the India Tourism Development Corporation under the Ministry of Tourism for Rs 8.57 crore, the show utilizes modern multimedia techniques to engage visitors, all while respecting the sanctity of the monument preserved by the Archaeological Survey of India. Shekhawat emphasized the vast tourism potential of Leh, highlighting recent developmental strides.

The project is part of sustained efforts, led by Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, to develop Ladakh into a global tourist hotspot. The initiative is not only culturally enriching but also economically beneficial, creating job opportunities and fostering night-time tourism.
