Leh's Vibrant Transformation Welcomes Buddha's Relics

The historic town of Leh is experiencing a transformation with extensive beautification efforts ahead of the sacred exposition of Gautama Buddha's holy relics. This event will take place from May 2 to 14 and is expected to draw significant visitors.

Under the direction of Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, authorities have launched a comprehensive initiative to enhance public spaces. Flower pots, plantations, wall art, and graffiti adorn the town, particularly concentrating on the Leh Main Market, improving its visual appeal and making it a welcoming destination.

The initiative is aimed at boosting tourism and instilling local pride, positioning Leh as a culturally vibrant and organized city. The efforts, drawing from best practices seen at the G20 Summit in New Delhi, underscore a focus on cleanliness and urban aesthetics, positioning Leh as a premier travel destination.
