Gallipoli Commemoration: A Tribute to Unity and History

In northwest Turkiye, a solemn gathering marked the 111th anniversary of the Battle of Gallipoli. Officials and visitors from Australia, New Zealand, and Turkiye assembled to honor the history shared by these nations.

The ceremony, beginning at 5:30 am, was held near a beach where the Anzacs first landed at dawn on April 25, 1915. Participants from around the world engaged in prayer, hymns, and wreath-laying to remember the battle, which saw immense loss but forged lasting bonds.

Governor-General of New Zealand, Dame Cindy Kiro, highlighted the transformation of former enemies into friends through remembrance. Ataturk's poignant tribute was also read, underscoring the unity and shared humanity among these nations.
