General Manoj Naravane, the former chief of India's Army, has published two books following a controversy surrounding his unpublished memoir, 'Four Stars of Destiny.' He said criticisms were unwarranted as he moved forward by producing additional literary works.

Naravane's recent book, 'The Curious and the Classified,' offers intriguing insights into the Indian military, exploring deep-rooted legends and traditions. It traces historical elements such as the adoption of 'Jai Hind' in armed forces, and unveils tales including the legendary Assam Regiment's anthem 'Badluram ka Badan.'

Among the compelling narratives, the book highlights Pedongi, a dedicated mule from the 1971 conflict. Captured and later escaped from Pakistan, Pedongi returned to its unit through treacherous terrains. The mule was eventually celebrated and honored till its passing after a long life.
