The legal action was initiated by the children from Kapur's previous marriage to actress Karisma Kapoor, questioning the legitimacy of his will.

In a notable judgment, the High Court granted the injunction plea filed by Kapur's children, effectively preventing the establishment of third-party rights regarding the contested assets.
