The 'Sacred Exposition of the Holy Relics of the Tathagata' was inaugurated in Leh, as announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking on 'X', PM Modi emphasized the cultural and spiritual significance of the event for the local populace and visitors.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah had opened the event on Friday, coinciding with the 2569th Buddha Purnima celebrations. The sacred relics, who have origins in the Piprahwa Stupa, are a symbol of Lord Buddha's enduring teachings, Modi explained.
This exhibition is set to travel to Zanskar and is accessible in Leh until May 14. The initiative is expected to catalyze spiritual and cultural tourism across Ladakh, offering a unique opportunity to pay respects to these revered artifacts.
