The Andaman and Nicobar Islands have set a new Guinness World Record by forming the tallest underwater human stack at Swaraj Dweep. Fourteen individuals, including Lieutenant Governor DK Joshi, accomplished the 22.3-meter stack, remaining submerged for three minutes.
This remarkable achievement follows closely on the heels of another record-breaking event, where the world's largest underwater national flag was unfurled, measuring approximately 60 by 40 meters. Both events were part of a strategic initiative to position the islands as a leading global diving destination.
Officials underline the significance of these accomplishments in enhancing the islands' appeal for scuba diving and eco-tourism, ensuring all activities adhered to international safety standards and guidelines. The records are expected to attract widespread attention, both nationally and internationally.
