Karnataka Celebrates International Day of Yoga with Grand Events
Karnataka will celebrate the 12th International Day of Yoga on June 21 with a grand event at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru. The theme is 'Yoga for Health, Knowledge and Global Peace.' The government plans to involve 25 lakh participants across the state, including rural awareness programs.

Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao announced that the state will mark the 12th International Day of Yoga on June 21 with ceremonies highlighting 'Yoga for Health, Knowledge, and Global Peace.' Activities are scheduled throughout Karnataka, including a significant event at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru.
The program, expected to attract around 5,000 yoga enthusiasts, will feature Karnataka Governor Thawarchand Gehlot and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, alongside numerous dignitaries. The engagement, backed by AYUSH, includes a 45-minute yoga demonstration endorsed by the Union Ministry of AYUSH.
Anticipating nearly 25 lakh participants, the celebrations aim for extensive outreach, focusing on rural areas. A national seminar, 'Vigyana Yoga,' will be organized, and the Government Ayurveda Research Centre has arranged national-level social media contests to commemorate the day.
