Renowned filmmaker Christopher Nolan has cast rapper Travis Scott in his upcoming movie 'The Odyssey,' drawing a parallel between modern rap music and the ancient tradition of oral storytelling. According to E! News, Nolan believes Scott's rap background naturally aligns with the role of a bard in the film.

In a statement, Nolan mentioned his intention to honor the narrative's roots as oral poetry, likening it to rap music's storytelling style. Scott portrays a bard recounting Odysseus's epic journey, as seen in a recently-released trailer. The clip showcases Scott narrating tales of the Trojan War to Telemachus, played by Tom Holland, with Matt Damon as Odysseus.

This appearance marks Scott's debut acting role in a Nolan film, although he previously collaborated with the director on the score for 'Tenet' in 2020. Nolan praised Scott's creative input at the time, describing his contribution as crucial in completing the film's musical puzzle. 'The Odyssey', also featuring famed actors like Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, and Zendaya, is set to premiere on July 17.
