Authored by Subhash Chandra Kushwaha, 'Bhil Revolt: A Century and a Quarter of Struggle', takes a deep dive into the Bhils' resistance from 1800 to 1925, covering vast areas across modern-day Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Rajasthan.

The narrative challenges traditional historical portrayals of Bhils as 'barbaric', presenting them as original inhabitants despoiled by Rajput, Maratha, and British invaders. Kushwaha illustrates how such dispossession turned them into guerrilla warriors fighting for survival and dignity. Notably, the book chronicles the fascinating life of Tantya Bhil, who became an international figure through his defiance against British authorities.

Structured in three parts, the book discusses the oscillating British policies, the sociopolitical dynamics in Rajputana and Gujarat, and key figures in the rebellion.
