The sacred Sri Rudranath temple, a key site in the Panch Kedar pilgrimage, opens its doors for the summer season. Traditional rituals marked the event as the deity's procession departed from Gopinath temple on Sunday.
Hundreds of devotees gathered to bid farewell to the 'Dev Doli'. The event witnessed participation from Uttarakhand Minister Bharat Singh Choudhary, senior BJP leaders, and local officials. The procession, featuring flower showers and Garhwal Rifles' band music, halted at Lweeti Khark for the night, continuing its journey towards the Rudranath temple.
Perched at 3,600 meters, the Rudranath temple is reached through a challenging 18 km trek. Following special prayers at Gopinath temple, the temple gates will open at midday on Monday, allowing devotees to worship the 'Ekanan' form of Lord Rudranath.
