During Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Sweden, India and Sweden unveiled a comprehensive roadmap to enhance strategic ties, focusing on innovation and trade. The bilateral talks between Modi and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson in Gothenburg culminated in the elevation of their relationship to a strategic partnership.
The partnership involves ambitious plans such as the 'India-Sweden Joint Innovation Partnership 2.0' and the 'Technology and Artificial Intelligence Corridor', marking deeper collaboration in areas like AI, quantum computing, and renewable energy. Additionally, the leaders agreed to work towards doubling bilateral trade and investment in five years.
In recognition of Modi's efforts in strengthening India-Sweden relations, he received Sweden's highest honor for a head of government. His visit also included cultural engagements and discussions on global issues, reinforcing the countries' commitment to sustainable economic growth and resilient supply chains.
