The Dawoodi Bohra community in Bhopal celebrated Eid-ul-Adha (Bakrid) on Tuesday, marked by special prayers for world peace, devotion, and simplicity.

While the Muslim community across the country will celebrate Bakrid on May 27, the Bohras celebrate their festivals according to the Egyptian-Hijri calendar.

Ibrahim Ali Dawoodi, media coordinator of the Dawoodi Bohra community of Bhopal, stated that special morning prayers (Khutba) were offered for peace, progress, and mutual brotherhood in the country and the world.

He said members of the community gathered at the Haidri Mosque in Aliganj and other Bohra mosques in Bhopal.

According to Dawoodi, there are more than 50,000 Bohras in Madhya Pradesh and over 10,000 in Bhopal alone.

He thanked the common people, the police, and the municipal corporation for ensuring the successful and peaceful celebration of Eid.
