A conflict erupted in Thane's Mira Road area after controversy over the construction of a temporary shed for sacrificial goats ahead of Bakrid. Residents and Hindu organizations resisted the setup at the Srishti Complex, citing religious concerns. Following heightened tensions, police stepped in to de-escalate the situation.

On Monday, residents of the housing society gathered in protest, involving slogans and attempts to escalate tensions further. With the involvement of Vishwa Hindu Parishad members, three people faced alleged attacks. Authorities stayed on high alert and stationed officers across Mira-Bhayander to ensure communication stays civil.

Attempts to return goats to the housing area further inflamed the situation. Speaking about the incidents, BJP's Kirit Somaiya accused certain leaders of fostering a hostile environment. He asserted religious rituals should occur in appropriate venues, criticizing any attempts to force changes on Hindu residents.

Shiv Sena's Pratap Sarnaik called for communal harmony, blaming outsiders for stoking unrest. The goat removal involved official municipal intervention, yet unresolved disputes led to legal proceedings, including cases concerning religious sentiment disruption and public assembly rules.
