Royal Caribbean's Mega Water Park Scrapped Amidst Environmental Concerns

Royal Caribbean has canceled its 'Perfect Day' water park project on Mexico's Caribbean coast following rejection by Mexican authorities, President Claudia Sheinbaum announced this week.

The proposed development faced significant public opposition due to its environmental impact on the pristine Mahahual area, a concern echoed by Mexico's environmental agency, SEMARNAT.

The company remains hopeful and is considering other less ecologically harmful proposals in Mexico. Local environmentalists continue to advocate for sustainable tourism in the region.
