Security has been significantly bolstered at Shri Guru Ram Das Ji International Airport in Amritsar amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. Airport functions remain suspended until further notice as per ACP Airport, Amritsar, Yadwinder Singh. Enhanced patrolling and strict protocols are in place, with only airport personnel allowed entry.

On Thursday night, the Indian Army successfully intercepted and shot down more than 50 Pakistani drones during a large-scale operation along the Line of Control and International Borders, sources disclosed to ANI. The District Public Relations Officer in Amritsar has advised residents to stay indoors and follow safety protocols by keeping lights off and curtains drawn.

Defence sources also reported the downing of two drones in the Naushera sector amid heavy artillery exchanges. The recent attempts by Pakistan to target military stations in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur were swiftly countered by Indian forces, resulting in no casualties. Despite the heightened alert, authorities urge calm and cooperation from the public.
