In a recent media briefing in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh's Revenue, Horticulture, and Tribal Development Minister, Jagat Singh Negi, assured citizens of the state's preparedness for internal security challenges. The minister underscored the tranquility along the Indo-China border areas of Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti, labeling the current situation as calm.
While the state does not share a direct boundary with Pakistan, Negi expressed his concerns regarding security incidents along the Pakistan border. He confirmed the deployment of security personnel at small hydro power projects in Kinnaur, emphasizing the importance of protection for these facilities which lack large dams, unlike the Bhakra dam.
The state government has been proactive, with directives for officials to stay vigilant. Additionally, a review of government decisions over the past two years revealed signifcant progress, with 789 out of 831 Cabinet decisions implemented. Focus remains on executing the remaining 42 decisions in the coming month.
