In a move to support victims of a devastating road accident, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced Rs 5 lakh ex gratia for each family of the 13 deceased in Saragaon, along with Rs 50,000 for the injured survivors. The tragic collision, involving a truck and trailer, left 14 injured and claimed multiple lives on the Raipur-Balodabazar Road.
CM Sai expressed deep sorrow, emphasizing that the state government has provided directions for administering proper treatment to the injured victims. He assured the mourning families that Chhattisgarh stands by them during this crisis, with the government approving substantial compensation for both the deceased's families and the injured individuals.
Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao pledged an investigation into the accident, promising stringent measures against those found culpable. Meanwhile, Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel highlighted the concerning rise in road accidents in the state, advocating for preventive measures and enhanced road safety strategies beyond monetary compensation.
