In a landmark operation, the Indian Army and Assam Rifles collaborated in efforts that resulted in the arrest of 16 militants across Manipur's hill and valley districts from May 5-12. Authorities recovered 17 weapons, numerous IEDs, grenades, and additional military supplies in these maneuvers, according to an official statement.

The initiatives spanned districts including Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Tengnoupal, Chandel, and Senapati, with coordinated support from the Manipur Police, CRPF, BSF, and ITBP. Notably, from May 4-5, recoveries included an AK-47, a modified .303 rifle, 11 IEDs, grenades, and ammunition from Imphal West's Tingri and Chandel's Chamol Top.

In a separate development on May 7, in T Minou, Tengnoupal, officials seized an AK-56, an INSAS rifle, a carbine, and six IEDs. Meanwhile, Assam Police, in Assam, apprehended three individuals for elephant poaching, recovering weapons and tusks at Manas Tiger Reserve. The government highlighted its proactive wildlife protection stance through these strategic successes.
