On a significant note, the 165th Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) (Home & Hearth) celebrated the 84th anniversary of the Assam Regiment by conducting a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Assam Regiment War Memorial in Imphal. The occasion served as a tribute to the valor and legacy of the Assam Regiment.
In tandem with this commemoration, the Assam Rifles executed firing exercises utilizing key support weapons at the Darranga Field Firing Range. According to official sources, these drills are crucial to ensuring the Force's operational readiness, significantly contributing to their combat effectiveness and precision.
Earlier, from May 26 to June 5, a series of intelligence-led operations led by the Indian Army and Assam Rifles, under Spear Corps' guidance, targeted several districts. These operations, in collaboration with local law enforcement, resulted in the arrest of 23 cadres and the recovery of 40 weapons along with IEDs and ammunition.
