TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee has expressed grave concerns over the lack of response from media, judiciary, and opposition parties following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that resulted in 26 fatalities. Via a social media post, Banerjee questioned the government's accountability and its handling of national security.
Banerjee raised five significant questions aimed at the central government. He addressed the breach in security that allowed four terrorists to cross the border and execute the attack, further questioning the lack of action against those responsible and the government's dealings with both Pakistan and domestic spyware capabilities.
Highlighting the absence of an official response to U.S. President Donald Trump's remarks about influencing a ceasefire, Banerjee stressed concerns of disregarding public sentiment, reminiscent of national unity during past attacks. The attack, on April 22, targeted tourists in Pahalgam and is considered one of the deadliest since the Pulwama attack in 2019.
