A team led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel directed FSL experts, who quickly mobilized to the crash site. Despite the overwhelming scene, the team coordinated with the Civil Hospital for rapid DNA sampling and identification.
H. P. Sanghvi, Director of Forensic Science, highlighted the emotional significance of their work, and with teams from various cities, they expedited the DNA profiling process. Advances in forensic technology enabled this swift response, contrasting the slower processes of the past, earning commendation from state officials.
Notably, the compassion and diligence of the FSL team, including 54 DNA experts, many of whom sacrificed personal commitments, ensured families received closure promptly. This operation not only aided identification efforts but also demonstrated the team's unwavering dedication and empathy during such trying times.
The tragic crash of Air India's Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner left 241 people deceased, including the former Chief Minister of Gujarat. The FSL's exemplary efforts were instrumental in bringing families the solace of closure, proving crucial in their path to healing.
