Union Home Minister Amit Shah will travel to Chhattisgarh on June 22-23, where he will inaugurate the campus of the National Forensic Science University. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma disclosed this during a media briefing, highlighting the 'Bhoomi poojan' ceremony for the state's new forensic lab, coinciding with Shah's visit.

Sharma underscored the significance of forensics in the context of three recently introduced laws, namely BNS, BNSS, and BSA. He praised the state government's allocation of 40 acres in Naya Raipur for the university's campus. Additionally, Shah will extend his condolences to the family of ASP Akash Rao Giripunje, who tragically died in a Sukma IED blast.

Amit Shah, during a ceremony on June 1 in Kolkata, had discussed the transformation of the criminal justice system, emphasizing robust forensic structures. Highlighting previous national developments, he noted that the government initiated the first National Forensic Sciences University in 2020, with plans for 16 such institutions, reaffirming the role they play in enhancing law and order.
