BJP Member of Parliament Anurag Thakur has lauded the Central Government's allocation of Rs 2,006.40 crore for disaster restoration efforts in Himachal Pradesh. He voiced dissatisfaction with the state Congress government's alleged failure to recognize the federal support, suggesting a political bias in how aid is implemented.
Thakur emphasized the Centre's swift action in sanctioning thousands of housing units for Himachal during times of crisis, personally attributing the aid package to the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He criticized the state government for not showing gratitude and questioned their approach to governance.
Pointing to the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Thakur criticized the exclusion of MPs' names from inauguration ceremonies. He argued that despite receiving significant federal support, the state government continues to demand more funds while ignoring acknowledgments of received aid.
