In a significant move towards cleaner energy solutions, Odisha Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo and former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair signed a tripartite Letter of Intent in New Delhi. The agreement connects the Odisha Energy Department, IIT Kanpur, and the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change.
This initiative is set to position Odisha as a trailblazer in the renewable energy sector, with plans to establish a ''community of practice'' among energy ministers across India. A conference is proposed later this year, highlighting Odisha's leadership role in electricity reforms.
Furthermore, the collaboration aims to address distress migration in Odisha's western regions. The Tony Blair Institute has also contributed to Odisha's Artificial Intelligence Policy, recently approved by the state cabinet.
