In a significant push for global health awareness, Gujarat is set to participate robustly in the 11th International Yoga Day under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. With preparations completed, the main event is scheduled at Sharmishtha Lake, Vadnagar, along with the presence of notable state ministers and dignitaries.
Since the United Nations recognized June 21 as International Yoga Day in 2015, the observance has taken on a worldwide scale, marking this year as the 11th such celebration. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to lead the national event from Visakhapatnam, with his message broadcasted statewide, urging an obesity-free lifestyle through Yog.
In collaboration with various state departments, the Government of Gujarat has meticulously planned mass public involvement, setting a target of engaging over 15 million citizens in yoga activities across diverse venues. The initiative is part of a broader agenda to promote health and wellness, spanning rural and urban settings, with events lined up at thousands of educational institutions and public spaces.
