On Saturday, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel participated in yoga sessions in Vadnagar to commemorate the 11th International Day of Yoga, aligning with a national initiative inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for a healthier lifestyle. The state committed to promoting a future free from obesity and health issues.
In Dehradun, President Droupadi Murmu, alongside Governor Gurmeet Singh, took part in the celebrations. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi spearheaded the national yoga event from Vishakapatnam, pushing for yoga to become a global policy focused on inner peace. He stressed the necessity of making yoga a worldwide responsibility for collective unity.
"This International Yoga Day should mark the start of Yoga for Humanity. Let it be when inner peace becomes a global policy, and yoga is embraced globally," PM Modi declared. The scenic Visakhapatnam coastline provided a backdrop for the event, with Indian Navy ships enhancing the grandeur. Numerous yoga enthusiasts, local residents, and dignitaries from Andhra Pradesh joined PM Modi in the celebration.
Prime Minister Modi urged for yoga to become a mass movement worldwide, promoting global peace and health. He advocated for daily yoga practice leading to stress-free societies. Various other leaders, including multiple Chief Ministers and Union Ministers, participated in Yoga Day events throughout the country.
