The Special Cell of Delhi Police has intensified its crackdown on organized crime by charging Zoya Khan, the third wife of incarcerated gangster Hashim Baba, under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). This development was confirmed by the police on Monday.

Khan's arrest in February tied her to a drug trafficking case, and she faces accusations in several serious incidents, including the high-profile murder of a businessman in Farsh Bazar and the killing of gym owner Nadir Shah in South Delhi's Greater Kailash. Police allege that she masterminded the operations of Hashim Baba's gang while he remains behind bars in Tihar Jail.

Hashim Baba, an associate of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, was apprehended in 2020 for multiple charges, such as murder and extortion. He married Khan while on bail in 2017. Khan, arrested earlier in the Nadir Shah case, defends herself, stating her only crime is being Baba's wife and claims innocence in the alleged crimes.
